What's Happening at St. Philip's:

Harvest Thanksgiving - We are once again asking for donations towards our wonderful Thanksgiving Display. These donations go mainly towards purchasing Chrysanthemums which are later given to shut ins or planted in the church gardens. Help us to make a stunning display to the Glory of God and with thanksgiving again this year. Please place your gift in an envelope clearly marked "Thanksgiving Display".

Choose a Bible Reading - For the 8am service on Sunday 29 October, we are inviting people to choose a favourite Bible reading. If you have a passage from the Bible that you would especially like, or which has particular meaning for you, please list it on the sheet in the multi-purpose room. Please can you also indicate if you are willing to read the passage during the service and say why it is so special for you.

Compassionate Resource Warehouse:  Its time once again for our Compassionate Warehouse fall collection of school supplies. They are in need of pencils, pens, rulers, crayons, pencil crayons, erasers, sharpeners, glue sticks, scissors, school bags, lined paper & small notebooks. Please place your items in the collection bin next to the book case in the church vestibule. The collection will continue until the end of September.  Thanks so much for helping us help children, young people and adults learn overseas!

Memorial Service for Ken May:  The memorial service for Ken May will take place at St. Philip by-the-Sea on Friday, October 6, at 2:00 pm.

Community Events:

Regional Meetings:  Regional meetings are designed to prepare clergy, wardens, synod delegates and all engaged members of the diocese for an upcoming Synod. As we live out our vision over the coming year, we will pause together to consider what God is calling us to do and be leading up to and after Synod 2018.

Facilitated by Bishop Logan McMenamie and the regional dean in each area.

Can't get to the meeting in your area? All meetings are open to anyone, so just find a date and location that works for you. The more the merrier!

*Please bring a bag supper and don't forget to carpool!

An Invitation from Ron & Christina and Canadian Foodgrains Bank: Join our core choir and sing at any of the fall 2017 "West of the Strait" Common Vision Concerts, for the purpose of raising funds for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.  Concerts like this were held last year, and proved wonderfully successful.  It is hoped that this year’s concerts will be as beneficial for the work of the CFGB and all those it serves.   All are invited to join the core choir, to sing at the concert nearest you, or just attend. Please see attached poster for more information.
